SkoolYard is our Slack workspace where you get to meet and greet your peers, instructors and SkoolYard Mentors and TAs. After successful enrolment, you will receive a slack invite on your registered email address to the SkoolYard space.

How does it help you?

It will be a forum for you to interact and network not only with your allocated Instructor but your peers and Visiting Professors as well.

What does it offer?

  • Networking Events
  • Group Discussions
  • Live Interaction with Instructors
  • Important announcements and celebrations

All events are organized and moderated by SkoolYard or Sky Team.

Your support system – the SKY team

The SkoolYard team, also referred to as SKY team, is a highly skilled team of professionals from various backgrounds like Machine Learning, Research and Software Development. The SKY team acts as Mentors, Teaching Assistants and provide support for all your queries.

The team is mainly responsible for hosting networking sessions, group discussions and providing ongoing support to Instructors during live sessions.

How will your week look like

  • The course is structured in weekly format spread across six weeks.
  • Each week commences on Sunday where the agenda for the upcoming week will be revealed.
  • Weekly content is made available thereafter, where you can start accessing the lectures and assignments.
  • Live Lectures: Weekly topics are discussed in detail in Tuesday’s zoom session organized by the SKY team. Lecture duration is around 1 to 2 hours.
  • SKY team organizes a group discussion which gives an opportunity to interact with fellow pears. Based on mutual consent, participants are divided into random groups which thus interact with one another each Wednesday.
  • Instructor Office Hours: Each Thursday, there will be Instructor Office Hour where Instructors will be live for one hour on Slack for AMA sessions.
  • Hallway provides “break rooms’ which are basically video chat rooms. The idea behind is to provide you with an opportunity to have hallway conversations with their peers.
  • Weekend Assignments
The learning spreads across weekends, with weekend projects starting on Saturday(s) and submission deadline as close as Sunday. In order to remain grading eligible, you need to meet deadlines.

Note: The scheduled days mentioned above may change based on the availability of the instructor and the SKY team. Prior notifications will be sent out to make your experience hassle-free.

Live interactions

LiveAI courses offers various opportunity to interact with Researchers and Trainers like:

  • Weekly live sessions with the Instructors.
  • Weekly office hours with Instructors.
  • Focused group discussions with Hive instructors during the Hive project week that is, week 4 and week 5 for AAIE.

Weekend assignments

Every week a grading assignment will be presented in the form of a project designed by LiveAI Instructor. Each course will have different weekend assignments and some may offer the option to choose one project depending upon project selection.

For AAIE-O&G, the first four weekends will have weekend projects.

Problem statements along with a guided notebook will be provided, where you will be required to fill in the codes. We value and appreciate the hard work, therefore participants who wish to go beyond and create their own solution get some bonus points.

Grading and feedback

Grades and feedback are provided after a thorough review and grading process by our Instructors. These are made available on dashboard after a few days of submission. All graded assignments and projects are mandatory for the course completion which also included occasional quizzes and weekend projects.

In addition to these assignments, hive projects are an integral part of the review and grading system which might take a considerable amount of time for review hence causing delay in feedback.

Applied AI Hive Projects

The Hive projects are aimed to bring together industry experts and researchers at one platform to guide and mentor students of LiveAI. This exposure will help you to gain insights into the Real AI market and apply their learnings.

Working towards your certificate

In order to complete the course and receive the certificate, you will be required to –

  • “Mark as Complete” for all the lessons including the optional lessons (Optional lessons are only for your reference, but you need to mark them as Complete for 100% completion)
  • Submit all the quizzes successfully.
  • Submit the weekend graded assignments.

These are mini-projects and we have filled in some parts of the notebook for your reference. You are required to fill in the blank sections of the notebook. Please download the entire folder (data + notebook) and solve the assignment on your local system. You can also work on the problem statement separately your own using the data provided.
